Projektbau presents TOSKA: dj poolboi, DJ Cinema Quartier Latin, Projektbau

Toska - noun /ˈtō-skə/ - a feeling of sadness and melancholia without any specific cause. Emotional dance music has always lived in Berlin. You can hear the city's grit in the music, made by a whole underground of international artists who never defaulted to techno or trance. But that community has stayed confined to the internet, boxed out by an industry that keeps investing in the genres that already built this city's reputation. Inspired by the ethos of emo and punk shows, TOSKA aims to bring back a sense of community and emotional depth that has been lost in the rapid commercialisation of dance music. Expect a unique lineup of artists with a wide sonic palette spanning House, UK Garage, Breakbeat and Trance tunes you wouldn't hear in this city otherwise. Real Music. Real Emotions. 19:00 - 23:00 -- "No single word in English renders all the shades of TOSKA. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody of something specific, nostalgia, love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom.” - Vladimir Nabokov
