Kleistone Signature Intensive Ceramic Class (4 Weeks)

Im Kleistone Studio widmest du dich über vier Einheiten dem keramischen Handwerk. Du lernst Techniken wie Kneifen, Plattentechnik und das Arbeiten mit Wülsten oder Formen kennen. Der Kurs führt dich durch den gesamten Prozess vom ersten Tonklumpen bis zum fertigen Objekt. Neben dem Aufbau der Stücke probierst du verschiedene Dekorationstechniken wie Sgraffito oder Inlay aus. Zum Abschluss glasierst du deine Arbeiten mit unterschiedlichen Methoden wie Tauchen oder Pinseln. Nach dem abschließenden Brand holst du deine fertigen Stücke im Studio ab.

Come and join us in an intense class over four sessions exploring the extended process of ceramic hand-building, as well as decoration techniques, design considerations and glazing. \n\nSession 1: you will have an introduction to clay as well as learning pinching and slab building techniques to make your first pieces.\n\nSession 2: You will learn coil building. You will then learn decoration techniques using engobes including sgraffito and inlay. \n\nSession 3: You will have an introduction to using forms. Afterwards you will then be able to work on a personal project, using the techniques from weeks 1 & 2. \n\nSession 4: (2-3 weeks after session 3 - check the class dates). We will finish off the pieces with glazes and overglazes. Learn how to glaze your pieces using dipping, pouring and brushing techniques. You will then be able to add patterns and decorations with colourful overglazes. \n\nIn this class you will be able to experience the whole pottery process, in depth from start to finish.
