Haunted place hike near Oranienburg (15km) with Café at the end ☕

Das ehemalige Lungensanatorium am Grabowsee bietet eine Kulisse aus verfallenen Backsteinbauten und zugewachsenen Wegen. Der Ort ist bekannt als Drehort für Filmproduktionen und wirkt besonders bei grauem Wetter. Die Tour führt von Oranienburg durch den Wald direkt zum Gelände. Die Wanderung umfasst insgesamt 15 Kilometer Fußweg. Vor Ort besteht die Möglichkeit, die Gebäude und das Gelände gegen einen Eintrittspreis zu besichtigen. Festes Schuhwerk und wetterfeste Kleidung sind für das unebene Terrain notwendig. Zum Abschluss der Tour bleibt Zeit für Kaffee und Kuchen in Oranienburg. Just in time for Halloween, we’re heading to one of the eeriest lost places in Brandenburg: the abandoned Grabowsee sanatorium. Hidden in the forest by a quiet lake, this former lung clinic has stood empty for decades. Its crumbling red-brick wards, ivy-covered facades and silent corridors are so cinematic they’ve been used as a film set for horror movies and Hollywood blockbusters, including The Monuments Men. On a grey late-October day, it doesn’t get more atmospheric. The plan: 10:00 — Meet in front of Oranienburg train station 👉 https://maps.app.goo.gl/qT83XCBzn2wgZZkV6 How to get there: Take the RB32 train to Oranienburg from Ostkreuz at 9:18, or use any other option that works for you. 10:00–13:00 — We hike through the forest to Grabowsee (with a break for lunch/snacks) 13:00–14:30 — We explore the sanatorium: the old clinic buildings, the chapel and the overgrown lakeside grounds. Entrance: 10€, cash on site (an additional fee of 10€ is usually asked if you want to take photos) 14:30–16:30 — We hike back to Oranienburg. After reaching the city, there will be time for a well-earned coffee & cake ☕ before the train 17:29 — We come back with the RB12 to Berlin Ostkreuz (or you can choose what works best for you) What to bring: sturdy, comfortable shoes, warm layers and a wind/rain jacket, a torch (optional), and cash — at least 35/40€ (10€ ticket + 5€ meetup fee + some extra for the optional cafè/ photo permit).
