Elena Polzer: Mending Sessions

Kleidung ist mehr als Stoff. Elena Polzer bringt Menschen zusammen, um den Bezug zum eigenen Gewand über das Handwerk neu zu knüpfen. Im Studio 14 der Uferstudios geht es um das Ausbessern und Aufwerten von Textilien. Es ist kein klassischer Reparaturservice, sondern eine Einladung zur bewussten Auseinandersetzung mit Farben und Strukturen. Materialien sind vorhanden, eigene Stücke können mitgebracht werden. Die Kommunikation findet auf Deutsch, Englisch oder in deutscher Gebärdensprache statt.

Fabrics and textiles are materials that everyone knows and touches daily. And yet, many of us have lost the connection to what we wear. Elena Polzer invites all people to engage together in an old, everyday activity: patching and repairing clothing. The session takes place in a relaxed atmosphere and provides opportunity to repair or upcycle pieces of clothing. The space is not about providing a service, but about actively creating a space for mindful engagement with colors, textures, and tactile sensations. A wide range of materials will be provided and participants are welcome to bring items of their own clothing or participate spontaneously. Support is provided in spoken German and English as well as in German sign language.
