True stories about where we come from, what holds us, and what we pulled up. Tell one, or just come and listen! \n\nThis October, Club Motte is digging into Roots. \n\nWhere we come from. What holds us in place. What we took with us when we left, and what we pulled up on purpose. \n\nRoots can be a village you haven’t been back to in twenty years. \n\nA recipe nobody ever wrote down. \n\nThe moment you realised you sound exactly like your mother. \n\nAnd sometimes it’s something else entirely. A root canal that went very wrong. \n\nThe night you dyed your roots in a hostel sink. Rooting for someone who needed it. \n\nYou don’t need to take the theme literally. Your story just needs to be true, and yours. \n\nHow it works: There’s no lineup. Anyone can put their name in the draw on the night, and nobody knows who’s up until they’re called. \n\nYou get around seven minutes. No script, no notes, no voting, no winners. Two halves, about ten stories, and a room that actually wants to hear them. \n\nStories are in English.
